Not only is it practical and comfortable, your BJJ gi reflects your style and personality. From our tattoo-inspired "Old School" kimono to our reliable Alpha kimono, Aesthetic has a style to suit every BJJ student.

    BJJ Gi Material

When it comes to your BJJ gi, the material it is made from is a key part of its look and durability on the mats. The most common materials used are cotton, and ripstop. Cotton BJJ Kimonos are popular due to their affordability and breathability, while ripstop is known for its lightweight durability. Other materials for BJJ Gis can include, Hemp & bamboo, both known for their comfort and natural anti-microbial properties.

    Fit and Style

Finding the right fit is essential for both performance and to look good on the mats.
A BJJ gi that fits well should feel comfortable without being too tight or restrictive. A well-fitting kimono should allow for freedom of movement during techniques and sparring.
When choosing the correct size of BJJ, consider the jacket length, sleeve length, and pant length to ensure a proper fit.
BJJ Gi's some in "A" sizes from 0-5. The also come in F sizes for women and M for children. So please check our BJJ Kimono sizing chart before making your purchase.
Another thing to consider is the color of your BJJ Gi. If you are looking to compete in IBJJF Competitions, you may only wear White, Blue, or Black colored kimonos.
However BJJ Kimonos also come in many colors, from bright red to camouflage, the modern style of a bjj gi is only limited by your imagination.

    IBJJF Standards

All Aesthetic BJJ Gis are IBJJF Approved for the 2023 season. If you plan on competing in on of these tournaments, it is crucial to choose a gi that is approved by the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation).
The IBJJF will have very specific guidelines regarding gi design, material, measurements, and color. This is to ensure a fair level of competition.
Before purchasing your BJJ gi, please ensure it meets the IBJJF requirements to avoid any disappointment or disqualification in competitions.

    Maintenance and Care

To prolong the life of your Aesthetic BJJ gi, proper kimono maintenance and care is essential.
After every training session, you should be washing your BJJ gi as soon as you get home. Please wash on a cold 30 degree cycle in order to minimise any shrinkage of your BJJ gi.
Follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions on our labels to ensure that your gi will last a long time on the mats.
Hang dry your gi to avoid shrinkage & do not use a tumble dryer as the rubber in the kimono is likely to warp and mishapen the collar.
Avoid using bleach as this will weaken the fibers of your kimono and will shorten its lifespan. It will also discolor any embroidery on a white kimono.
